A recent study prompted lawyers to investigate claims from women who developed meningiomas after receiving the birth control shot. Depo-Provera®, which has been available since the early 1990s, does not carry any warnings about the risk of tumors. Fortunately, meningiomas are typically benign, and the study found no cases of malignant tumors in women who used the contraceptive.
